That is what makes Freddy so unique, he is not just another silent mumbling serial killer behind a mask. My point is though if you are going to keep various elements of the look still intact, clothes, glove, burned skin, etc, why change the actor? Seems to me like they are just giving Robert the shaft. Without him there would be no Freddy to remake.

I still have not seen the remake Friday The 13th either as I did not like how it looked from the start. But I may give this movie a chance just for comparison. I do hope there is another movie with Robert as Freddy.

Owen your going to be a mad man making these gloves man. you glove is so perfect to the film, buy only using a faint picture.this prevue shows it well. i'm so glad i got mine before the long wait time everyone else is gonna have to.Cool trailer to, the burns is gonna be a nice change.

Robert wasn't ever asked. However, I spoke with a guy who was angry that they replaced Robert but calmed down entirely after he spoke with Robert personally at a convention where he was signing autographs. He asked Robert how he felt that he was replaced. Robert responded by saying, "Look at me"... implying that he feels he is too old to play that role now and he personally endorsed Jackie to take his place.

Rob has said for a while that he didn't want to be involved, he was too old and that he couldn't face going through make up again! Mind you, I read an interview with him after NOES6 where he said it was the last time he would don the glove. Then he made WCNN and FvJ so who knows in the future? NOES 8 - Freddy gets his pension?
