Hi everyone... I wanted to give you guys an inside look into the new blade I have for a new Part 1 glove. This glove will not be called the Hero and it will be offered on more than 1 website. That will be revealed at a later date. This will be a super deluxe Part 1 glove and these blades are made out of 100% tempered stainless steel and are exactly like real knife steel. Heat treated, real beveling, etc! Thicker copper will also be used on this glove as well! This will be an expensive glove but it will be the closest thing to owning the real thing!Video of the blade in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-SmVa3r1as

I'm all for the new blade. That looks fabulous.I hope you aren't going TOO much thicker on the copper....There's nothing I hate more than a clunky, heavy glove that you can't have fun with.Cheers,Ryan

Thicker than my regular gloves but thinner than the Numero Uno.

Those look great mark, The blades I use on my first nightmare are the same thing <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> but if I ever get a chance I want to redo my templates to make them closer to the film like yours. Keep up the great work Mark!!! <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/woot.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":woot:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"woot.gif\" />

Well I love the blades but here's my two cents. I'm assuming that you're going for a screen accurate glove. I don't know why everyone makes this mistake on the blades, but they do not look like that at all. I know that the original blades were actualy knives, but they were fillet knives. Those types of knives do not have a knife look to them at all. They are thin and super sharp. One of the main reasons that they used those types of knives in the first place was because, since there was no groove or knife look to it other than the edge, they were easy to flip upside down and grind the edge off of, using the original curve of the knife. I only say this because my grandfather was a fisherman until the day he died, and I've seen so many fillet knives it's crazy, we even have a couple here. None of them have a knife look to them at all...they just have a razor sharp edge to them with a curve in the blade. While these are obviously these are not the same knives used on the glove, this site http://www.seamountknifeworks.com/gallery.htm should give you an idea as to what I'm talking about. I'm only saying this because I love your gloves and if you're really going to call this the deluxe hero and make it as screen accurate as possible, you're using the wrong kind of blades. There are no gloves that have that kind of look on the blades. That's a spin that was put on by glove makers a long time ago. Even on the actual hero glove, you can see that the blades themselves do not have that type of look to it where they look sharp on the top or bottom. Anyway man, I just wanted to throw my opinion in there and I also wanted to say that I do love the look of the blades, but once again if you're going for accuracy, I think they take away from that look.-Joseph

I'm going to have to disagree with you. The original glove has bevels along the top edge of the blade:Look at the pinky blade. There's clearly a bevel very similar to the bevel on my test blade:While my edges aren't 100% perfect at this point, it's as close as I can get it right now:

I think the pinky blade is just lighting playing tricks. I say this because there are so many clear shots of the blades for it not to show up all the time. Like I said though, that's just my opinion. I'd still buy one in a second :-)-Joseph

The reason my bevel shows up at any angle is because it's not as mirror finished as the rest of the blade so it stands out a lot more. That will probably be fixed as I develop this glove. But I am 110% positive that there is an upper bevel on the original glove.
