New Sculpt...

I've decided to start a new sculpt,something to keep me occupied when winter break hits,but I don't want to set my mind on ONE design or ONE character to do.So I thought I would leave everything up to you guys.In the next few days(maybe weeks)I'd appreciate it if you would leave any ideas you would like to see incorporated in to a new bust.Post ANYTHING cuts,scrapes,burns,wounds etc. and I will try my best to work it into one BA character. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":thumbsup:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> Thanks,Hector

This isn't what you want to hear, but it needs to be said:<b>Practice</b> on many different and varied designs (in large and small scale), review and memorize lots of human anatomy photos, and don't waste your money making molds off anything for at least a year or two while you study and perfect your style.Cheers,Ryan

Thanks for the feedback,I figured this would be a good way to get some more practice in.I've actually smashed a few sculpts I've been working on,thats why I haven't posted any new projects lately.I'm looking to make something really new and interesting this time around and incorporating what I've learned so far.Trust me its only been a little over a year so I don't expect much <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":tongue:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /> ,but its nice to add some of my own pieces to my collection. Good, it sounds like you're off to a good start then.If I were you, I'd immediately focus my training on the human anatomy and more specifically, the muscle structures of the face, head, and neck. Below is one of my new favorite references for memorizing and understanding the location, shape, and movement of muscles under the skin of a human body. Thanks those are some great sites.I've fond the skin texturing one before but lost it so a big thanks for that.I remember I spent like 3-4 months on my jason and myers sculpts and I was fairly happy with them,so I figure if I put all my love in to this one it will be my best yet! ANYONE who is starting out in sculpting, or has recently taken it up, pay attention to what Ryan has said. It cannot be said enough how massively important basic anatomy is to ANY sculpt, and the only real way to grasp that, and improve is to practise practise practise. I love to see new guys getting into this, and trying their hand, and I try to do nothing but encourage them along. But seeing pieces being molded and cast, then tried to sell when they are a ways still from that stage is a real shame, and loss of money. No one wants that. Not saying this is the case with you psychosocial, just a generalization of some helpful info.

I understand what you're saying.I guess I sculpt more for myself than anyone else,I mold it once I'm happy with it.Its a nice feeling to look up at your self and think"wow I made that" even if you're the only on doing it. Anyway I don't want this to get to far off topic <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":biggrin:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /> so does anyone have any more ideas? Good! That is the exact reason to do this, having fun and enjoying it yourself. If you go about it like that, and just have fun you can never fail, and you'll notice your work improving more and more quickly!To be on topic, it's a big thing and usually dominates the piece, but I've always loved seeing zombies or corpses with their bottom jaw torn off.
