Zombie's remake didn't have Carpenter's name ANYWHERE on the posters, and the only place Cunningham's name showed up on the posters for his remake was as a Producer. But, there was NO mention of "Based On A Screenplay" or "Based On Characters Created By".I can understand Platinum Dunes doing this for <i>Nightmare</i>, to an extent. But, the lack of respect being shown to Craven at this point (and during the entire process) has been absolutely unforgivable.But, it makes sense. Believe it or not, there are some kids out there who have never seen the original film, and there are even some people (you won't believe me if I say this, but it's true...as I KNOW some of these people) who don't know who Freddy, Jason, and Michael are, can't differentiate between them, don't know what their films are all about, who directed and created them, etc. Platinum Dunes and all the "reboot" companies are eager to cash in on this fact...this short attention span public, so their decisions make sense to me in some regard.I might not like the complete lack of respect...but, I "get it". Sadly.
