They didn't look like actual knife blades to me. There were a few blade markings but they were cut through and located in way different spots on each blade. There was also no backside bevel or edge either. Stop making excuses Ken and get to work lol <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":thumbsup:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> What we really need to find is a "wells lamont 900" so I can use my knives to have a truly definitive part one replica built. If anyone even has a picture of one of these gloves, I would LOVE to see it. I have a bunch of vintage wells lamonts with the leather clasp and red ball and those are very hard to find. However, I've never even seen a pic of a wells lamont glove with the silver ball and characteristic stitching seems.

I even have a pair made in the late 70's early 80's stamped from chicago plant. It has the red ball and metal clasp but it has a dark brown cuff. Its made from goat skin but is still the double stitching? So you know for certian it is a wells Lamont 900 ?

ok I had to double check the gloves I have and they are model 952 size medium?

I'm not poitive that they were wells lamont gloves at all. Actually, a few people claim that they weren't, which could be right. I'm just going by what Jim Doyle's drawing calls for. It says "wells lamont#900." Maybe, like the ekco knives, they planned on using this but changed for some reason. I've never saw a wells with the right stictching either but I just figured maybe the 900 is different.

I have a question. In the opening scene of part 1, you see the blade being heated with the torch minus the handle. In that one shot, you can clearly see the rivet hole where the handle was once connected. I always wondered what happened to that hole because they don't exist on the finished product. Are the blades really ground down that far, because on the pictures above it looks like they sit slightly off center? It seems like grinding that much off of the blade to make it fit onto the tip would be taking a bit too much off. Is it just an optical illusion that I'm seeing? Does anyone else see what I'm talking about? I have no doubt that those are the blades, I just never understood what happened to the tang since it's small to begin with.-Joseph

Yeah I always thought it was a generic glove they just slaped in there I mean it was supposed to be a home made weapon so maybe they really didnt care what glove they used? I really dont think it was a lamont and im sticking too that. I thought I saw years ago someone had the actual leather glove from the hero for sale somewhere?

If you watch its not showing him soldering just heating it up.

Yup, that's the picture, thanks guys. Wow, they really took a ton of metal off of the tang to get it down to size. It's weird seeing it stand alone, not connected to a tip. I think what really puts it into perspective for me is when you see the actual blades not connected, it really is an instrument of pure death and nothing more. I think that because we're all such big fans we've become desensitized to the fact that this truly is a terrifying weapon. It's crazy to think that it was thought up for a movie. Kind of makes you wonder what goes on inside the heads of people that think this kind of stuff up.-Joseph
