    this is one of my fav. part 3's i've seen . just great weathering :thumbsup: . never understood the sanding of the mask before basecoating though :unsure:

    Mike, I really appreaciate that, I'm really happy with how the weathering turned out, tried a couple different techniques I'd heard about and they worked out not too bad, after I got the hang of it a little more Wink The sanding before the base coat just helps the paint stick a little better, if it's a slightly roughed up surface it gives the paint more to bond to. Plus, it gets rid of any possible dirt, or residue from the mold or shipping, or whatever. Lets you start out with a clean even surface, and that always makes for a better smoother outcome.
