Bummer. He's responsible for one of the most popular of the Star Wars films.

    Wow. THAT is sad.

You know, it's easy to forget how everyone ages along with you...Most of my favorite actors, musicians, and people in general are now reaching their 60s, 70s, and 80s, but I don't really like to think about it. They always seem like they should be so much younger, for some reason...Sad

May Mr. Kershner rest in peace. His contributions to cinema will certainly not be forgotten.

I completely understand, Ryan. Most of my favorite actors/musicians are much, much older than I am. I forget just how old they are quite often and don't realize it until I see them in interviews or headlines. I'm so used to seeing them in their prime in movies, videos, photos, etc.

For example, my favorite musician of all time is Brian May of Queen. When I think of "Brian May" this is the type of image that comes to mind:

And here he is as of lately...

Really is hard to take in, ya know?

Yep, many of my favorite films are from the 80's and my favorite action star actors are Arnold and Stallone, now they're both in their 60's and sooner or later, their names will pop up in the news. But usually when I think of them, I picture them in their prime during the Rocky/Rambo flicks and Arnies numerous action films.

Speaking of Star Wars, just look how much Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher have aged. Of course, when they filmed the original Star Wars, I wasn't even born.... now I'm 31.

Just hate seeing names of these movie folks you admired show up as "passes away" or ".... has died". Atleast with Irvin Kershner and Leslie Neilsen, they lived pretty full lives.
