Just wondering with some of the nice silicone pieces I have seen as of late, why someone hasn't done a part 3 or 4 Jason in silicone, either a full head or just a hood. I love the realism that silicone offers, not to mention how long it lasts. But I am not sure what all goes into making one. I have looked for tutorials but not found many. I am sure that has a lot to do with why they are so pricey. But I have considered getting a nice silicone Fred and would love it if a Jason one existed too! Anyone have any thoughts, input, info, etc. feel free...

It's always hard to know what Bob has available. His old site is down and his FB pages don't show much.

i've always wondered about this myself until someone said , " why make a silicone jason mask if all you are gonna do is cover it with a Hockey Mask ? " so i guess some mask makers decided not to go through with it . i thought all of bobs silicone jasons were just busts' .... and i don't know if this is just me but when that part 4 from Rusty was being made , it looked darn awesome in the sculpting process but when it came out , it seemed as if some of the parts were sized too big and it threw the mask off .

I've always thought the best silicone Jason mask would be a part 7 version. That way you could add the dentures. It'd be AWESOME.

That's always what I thought and hoped it would happen someday . I just didn't wanna give out my ideas on how to make it work as somebody might take it as their own idea lol . Maybe one day when we can reach eachother over the phone again , I'll discuse my idea with you and see if you think it could work .

I know that silicone is more pricey than latex, but why are silicone masks so expensive? Is there a different process in making them that I am not aware of? I know basically how a latex mask is made, could someone who has a plaster mold for a latex mask also make a silicone one from it? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I know nothing about it.

    exactly what you said.
the materials are priced much higher, and silicone masks are considered to be a higher quality than latex, especially when it comes to wearing them.

plus, there really aren't too many people who sell silicone masks, so they can be priced fairly ridiculously.
