Thanks so much for the comments, you guys!
FOR INTERESTED PARTIES: PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION VERY CAREFULLY! Well, I am officially taking pre-orders for the retooled Part 4 stunt mask recast. There will be 20 copies produced in this run, and of that amount there are currently 17 copies available for purchase. The enlargement process has not yet taken place, but I am ordering the materials on Monday and will try to have the Hydrospan casting pulled within the next week. From that point, we will have to dip the Hydrospan casting in water for a period of 3 to 4 weeks, then equalize the expansion of the material for up to another 3 to 4 weeks. Once the size is around 40% larger, we will mold the enlarged Hydrospan casting to produce slush-cast, translucent flesh-tone resin busts that are roughly the same size as the original film sculpture. That will be the product that you receive. The cost for one of these busts is $250.00 USD. Shipping is NOT currently included in that amount, but will be billed separately at a later date once your product is finished and ready to ship out. Please know that $100.00 USD of each pre-order payment received is non-refundable, except in the case that the final mold cannot be completed for any reason and my customers and I cannot reach a satisfactory alternative on an individual basis. If you agree to wait for the potential time period(s) listed above, you may send your payment via Paypal to thedeathcurse@hotmail.com and I will keep a running list of all the people who have paid for their copy and send update emails including photos and more in depth information whenever possible. I have taken pre-orders before on a similar project with wonderful results and 100% fully satisfied customers, so please know that I will NOT take your money and run. If at any point I am unable to finish this project in the vision that I desire, I would definitely present other options for you to consider, including castings from the smaller 2nd mold (such as the one pictured below), or even a full refund if absolutely necessary. Below are some photos of my master casting from our second mold, which was created from the modified, retooled, and clayed-up resin bust pictured earlier in this thread. This is how the finished product will look, except around 40% larger and cast in flesh-tone resin. If you have any further questions, please feel free to respond here or shoot me a PM. Thanks again for your interest! Ryan

I\'m sorry for the lack of updates on this project, guys! I had a little "Hydrospan mishap" with our first shipment of the material...Basically, it ran with the consistency of molasses and - even in a pressure pot for 2 solid hours - it still had so many bubbles that the project was unuseable. The cured product also exhibits some major weirdness, such as a crap brown color (very odd for Hydrospan) and surface bubbles that ruin the casting. Industrial Polymers has agreed to replace my shipment, but I have to wait at least another week for that new kit to arrive. Hopefully, this time around we can make the material count. I\'ve been contacting professionals about proper ways to chill and pour the stuff for longer pot life, but it\'s just a very hard material to manage, unlike most polyurethane resins that are mix, pour, and cure, and thin as water.
I\'ll keep you all updated if there is any positive progress made on this next casting. Please keep your fingers, toes, and any other extremities crossed in the meantime...haha! Cheers, Ryan

Thanks for the updates Ryan... been following your Facebook. A slight delay will be nothing for those interested in such an iconic replica.

Any chance of making a wearable version?
09-02-2012, 02:01 AM
Randolph, I won\'t personally be producing a wearable version. However, there may be one produced much further down the road. Right now I\'m just concentrating on finishing this enlargement project above all other things. There are still 16 spots available for this run, if you\'re interested. Just send me a PM here on the board.
Cheers, Ryan |
