well I got a sideshow Jason 6 yesterday and really didn\'t like the Hockey Mask at all. The axe cut was barely even there, there were 2 seam like lines running down the sides of the hockey masks face, etc. So today after the \'strap\' broke for the 2nd time I decided to cut out the straps and rivets, sand the whole thing down and give redoing it a shot. Before you tear my efforts apart, I gotta say I absolutely hate working on stuff this damn small. I don\'t like models and I don\'t like small scale stuff. My hands are too big and clumsy for this stuff. However I do think it looks a little more real then it did. Anyway, on with the pics.

I know it\'s not the greatest job, Travis and Spaz do much nicer work on stuff this tiny, but I do think it looks better then it did. Smile

no, nothing inside, it\'s not really round like the screen mask was. And as for the tri? Like I said, I don\'t work on stuff this small. I\'ve seen ants bigger then that tri so I was just glad to get it looking decent and get the little scratchs into it.

I think it looks amazing bro! What did you use to dirty it up? I\'m tempting myself to open one up, and if I do, I want it to look like yours! Big Grin

well, first I cut off the big ugly rivet things that were on there. Then I cut the axe mark into it. I took a few different drill bits and by hand kinda beveled the vent holes so they would slope into the mask more instead of being straight holes. Then I sanded the whole mask down to bare plastic and sanded the lines out that were on the face to make the mask smooth like a real Hockey Mask. Then I basecoated it with 434 unbleached titanium acrylic paint, slightly watered down. Then I added 330 raw sienna to the titanium to darken it up a bit. I did this a couple times to slowly bring up the color value in between coats to give it a few different shades on the mask. For the triangle I used 437 lipstick red. and for the darkest wash/weathering I mixed the 330 sienna with a drop of 479 pure black to get a nice dirty brown. I added alot of little scratches, most noticably around the eyes, then used the black/sienna mix to wash into the scratches, wait a few minutes for it to dry then took a damp paper towel and wiped the mask down leaving the darkest color in the scratchs. Then I hit the mask with a matte clearcoat. When that was dry I took a small brush and did the black/sienna mix in all the little vent holes and just wiped off with my finger any excess. The straps I just made out of fine sand cloth, (not paper, plumbers sandcloth) to try and give it some texture, custom fit it to the figure, then glued the straps in place on the Hockey Mask with krazy glue and then painted the straps, again with the black/sienna mix and did the \'rivets\' with the point of a toothpic and some metallic silver paint.

uhm, that\'s about it I guess. I just did it by eye and tried to make it look dirty like the Hockey Mask in my favorite scene, the RV bathroom scene.

Hope that all makes sense and works for you if you try it. All the paints were thinned down with windex and I used a hairdryer on the low setting to quick dry the Hockey Mask in between coats.
