I\'m really not too happy with it. Something still seems really off. I keep looking at screen caps but I can\'t figure out what I\'m doing wrong. Plus it doesn\'t help that her hair is always covering her face. You never really see her ears much or the outside eye corners. She has a really triangular face too. I\'m begining to think maybe I bit off more then I can chew for a first 1:1 sculpture. I\'m almost considering taking a break from her and working on another sculpture. I still got a monster makers armature laying around I could throw some clay on.

i havent seen the movie yet so i really cant critique you too much, but from the looks of the screen cap and considering this is your first lifsize sculpture i think youre doing a decent job.

I think it\'s coming along GREAT Bill! Like you said, there is tons of Freds, Jasons, etc., etc., out there. This is definately a first for me. That last pic of yours seriously made the hair on my ummmmm ARMS stand up! I don\'t care if someone didnt find that movie scary, "I" DID!! That movie had me seriously wigged out! It was late at night, lights turned out, speakers by my head in bed. That damn croaking noise had me freaked!!! The wife asked me more than a few times (after I yelped) if maybe I shouldnt turn it off and finish it the next day? Hell no! I have to see this thru to the end!
Just don\'t trash it Bill! If you feel the need to step away from it for a while, please do so! You\'ll find the exact way to fix anything easily if you just step away for a bit, and come back to it fresh! Can\'t WAIT till you slap some grisly paint on her and wig it! ohhhh man....gonna have nightmares for sure!

maybe the eyes are too big. Likeness are damn hard. That Howard/TattooSculptor guy on Monster Lab is a King, imo. All his likeness\'s are dead on

anyway what you have done looks great, no jackass is going to be holding screen shot pictures next to your bust, all they are goign to see is that it is cool as hell and if they saw the movie they will say it looks just like her.... BUT your comments about how you are not happy with it should not discourage, they willl just make your learning experience and overall finished sculpture that much better. Anyway what you should do is make it with the neck in proportion to the head itself, and it looks like you are already doing that. THEN if you want to make a 3/4 wearable mask, just cut it or make a few when you are running out of latex.
AWESOME work so far. Rememer mask making is not always fun, if you get frustrated stop and save it for another day...or smoke a joint :lol: :lol: :ph34r:

Yeah I think I\'m starting to see what\'s wrong about it. Actually taking pictures of it and putting them next to screencaps helps alot.

Except the screencaps are always covered with hair, lol. Thanks for the encouragement though. I\'m not getting toooo frustrated. I\'m just eager to see her painted up and wigged, but at the same time don\'t want to rush, lol.

You can check the special features out on the DVD too Bill. There\'s a couple of parts where you can see her face pretty clearly. Brrrr! Still getting shivers seeing that sculpture! I just showed my oldest daughter and she freaked! heheheheheh
