your going to need a rivit gun wich will run u for about 25 dollars and new rivits, it is not possible to use the same rivit twice, u can let the rivits sit in a mixture of water and brown oxide to make a rusty effect and then apply them to the mask.

those arent the rivets you need a gun for  Those are cap rivets, or "brads". To attatch those you need a sort of clamp.

What would you use nail polish remover for? It sound slike your mask is going look really good once your done if you put that much work and authentic detail into it.

Thanks, we\'ll see. The paint job is decent enough, but DMC doesn\'t pay any attention to details like this, and I\'m certain that--once fixed--the mask will go up 2 whole levels.

So, to review, the fixes are as follows:

    1. Metal buckle (to replace the plastic one)
    2. Weather/Aging the \'rivets\' to compliment the worn-down paint job.
    3. Dust the straps down with some plain fuller\'s earth

Also, the DMC paint job looks as though it was done to look like a paint job. It lacks a degree of authenticity that could have easily been added had a little extra time been taken. Just a thought.

Yea, when you order from any mask maker you have to be specific other wise they will forget the little things like weathering the straps/rivets. I mean you have a beat to shit Hockey Mask and then there are the brand new leather strap to it I mean c\'mon. The little things make the Hockey Mask that much better! Yea and the mask looks alot better but with the little touches you will make it will be a lot better.

Its DMC, meaning several faceless mask makers. So any "little requests" you add will generally be overlooked.

Yea most likely, but lets say if you ordered a roy Hockey Mask from mike and you told him that you wanted the rivets to be weathered he would of done it, no problem.

Yeah, Mike\'s really great. As a matter of fact, everyone on this board is very attentive, both to the details of their work and each other\'s questions.
