Just out of curiosity, does anyone else ever, maybe even only when they\'re drunk, think some fo this horror stuff is over-priced? Come to think of it, do you ever think that even some of the mass-produced stuff is outrageous? I mean think about it, one mask can cost more than a full set of new tires or a few weeks worht of food and now days less thana month\'s worth of gas.

Let me add, I think its a great hobby and I know some people are trying to make a living with it, but I\'ve seen a few things online that I just didn\'t feel were worht the asking price. But, I suppose people are vain creatures and will spend alot on things that they mostly look at from time to time or entertain them.

Well this hobby isnt cheap but you have to pay for stuff you want , just like anything else in life.Me i must be vein like you said , cause if its something i want ill buy it, but everyone has there limits to what they would spend.Alot of the peices that cost alot have alot of work put into them, so thats why they cost so much.

I for one agree, but then disagree. I agree yes, in reality it is a lot of money if you think about it... But i disagree, because i know a lot of heart and talent goes into the masks we buy. It\'s not just a piece of painted latex. They are works of art. I for one have no problems paying what i pay to get my masks. They mean a lot more to me, after all the waiting and the saving. And i like to know that the makers of these monsters, can make a descent living doing what they do. And keep bringing us the goods.

Hmmm....i agree and disagree as well! Yes your right some things on the market are so over priced its unreal and they tend to be the licenced stuff, as for independent artists i think you have have to appreciate that and i speak about myself here for a minute but i get up at 5am do a long day 6 days a week try to be a good husband and father whilst i\'m also trying to make the best Hockey Mask i can for the guy who just ordered, its hard and i remember mike once saying that it aint about the money for us guys its loving what you do, the money helps by me or mrs. dowg not having to get a second job and spending more time with the kids so when some peoples work seems over priced just remember the time and effort they may have put in to it and i think thats why certain things will have a high price on them after all i think most of us work from home so there\'s no factory to step into and start the machines rolling and i can really interfere with home and social life but hey if we did\'nt love it we would\'nt be doing it for you guys!
Up with the independent artist and down with the faceless facist bully boy money grabbing bastards!!

There is alot of time and effort put into these masks we collect... They are not made in a factory in Mexico or China. If the piece looks good and in most cases can be customized with various paint jobs the price is more than worth it.

I sell alot of over priced things. I don\'t even get to make the prices, most of that is manufacturer suggested retail because they work to keep prices up. It\'s a struggle to try to bring customers the lowest prices and still put food on the table and I think most of the makers who do this for a living will agree with that. That being said, in all reality pricing is supply and demand.
If no one buys something at a price, the price will come down but if stuff keeps selling for that price, prices will go up. I know Econ 101. It must be selling if the seller is asking that for it, or the price will change in time.

I think that if the prices in this hobby are a concern for you, you\'re probably in the wrong hobby. This is meant to be a side thing something to blow your disposable income on. If you feel the prices are to steep for you they probably are, you should stick to neca figures and what not just to get your horror fix in if you must. When I look at piece I say to myself it must be mine and that\'s the end of story. If I don\'t have the extra cash laying around then will wait until I do or I contact the maker directly and work out a payment plan which most of the guys I work with have no problem with doing. Bottom line something is worth what someone will pay for it. If you think this hobby is bad you should check out star wars collectables or older rarer baseball cards.
