Just got an email from Travis and it\'s funny because we just posted about our orders
"Valued Client,
Well, it’s been a very trying time for us here at Kruegear.com over the past 6 weeks. First, let me assure you that yes, we are alive and well. As some of you know, I have recently suffered the loss of a family member during Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and as a result, have had to deal personally with the family issues that have resulted from this tragedy. Unfortunately, matters were made even more difficult for me with both of my parents suffering heart attacks within a week of each other in early September. My Father, already in failing health due to other medical conditions, was permanently hospitalized and my Mother is now home and resting/recovering.
I have returned from a second stay in New Orleans after a desperate search for my missing family member to no avail, and we (my family) are now unfortunitely submitting DNA samples to county Coroners in several state offices handling the cataloguing of the unidentified remains, which still number in the thousands.
I thank you all for your patience during this forced absence. There is power in the city, but very limited computer access to the public.
That having been said, as some of you are also aware, Kruegear has been having serious on-going delays with supplies and shipping issues with Canada Customs for quite a while now. These delays (we have been waiting for things like rivets and blades for months to clear our already back logged borders) have placed us in a very precarious position in getting things out to our clients in the allotted time frames and to a larger degree, an amicable delivery time in general. As a result of this specific circumstance, during the past 4 weeks while in the U.S., I have been researching the possibility of moving my studio and the entire KRUEGEAR operations site to the United States and out of Canada entirely. This would alleviate the Canada Export/Import Customs issues that have plagued me for the better part of a year and half. The restrictions of items that can be exported from Canada are growing almost bi monthly, and the resulting border duties (taxes), Brokerage fees, paperwork, customs export clearance times exceeding 2 months in some respects, and upcoming new mandates from Canada Customs and Revenue have finally broken my last straw.
So, valued clients, as a result, I have found a suitable location in the U.S. to re-establish the studio. KRUEGEAR.com will be re-locating to Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A! This move will completely alter all shipping times, methods and protocols for both current clients waiting patiently to get their orders, and also for upcoming clients for the 2006 run. Yes, there will be a mid-2006 run! As a result of relocating, and subsequent filling of my current backlog of clients ( which will take additional time to complete), and also from the hundreds of requests I have received asking me not to retire the site at the end of this 2005 season, I am extending the last order run by a full year. I hope this pleases all that have begged me not to retire the glove sales from the site. Because of this change of location, re-establishment of the main studio site in Brooklyn, New York, and current backlog caused by the above circumstances, KRUEGEAR will NOT be taking any new orders until May 2006. This will allot me the time needed to clear out all my remaining orders, and to re-establish an order-by-order run when the new season begins. New Clients will have a 2-3 week turn around on wait times, thanks to the fact that our supplies and materials being held up in customs will no longer be an issue, and shipping will not have to clear the Canadian export Authority. The Studio’s official move date is schedule for no later than the first of December 2005. I am currently loading all studio hardware and machinery from the studio for this monumental cross-country relocation for the next two to three weeks. Some of the equipment has already started its relocation ahead of the main bulk of the studio wares, and of course, my personal belongings. So this is not a matter of if, but when the final relocation happens. Once the operations site is re-established in New York, my first priority will be to deliver my outstanding client orders before taking any new clients on, so I would ask that anyone receiving this update that has recently contacted me about an order, not pursue the matter further until the new season start date of May, 2006. I, unfortunately, will be unable to make ANY exceptions to that rule. It is the only way I will be able to get things back on track and in the black, and I thank you for understanding my position in the matter. Don’t worry; there will be plenty of spots open for the next season run!
Contact information:
All current contact information via the KRUEGEAR website will remain intact, and as I am now finished with my emergency absences regarding my family circumstances, I will be available for immediate e-mail replies within 48 hours at all times. Further, all clients may still contact me by phone at (604) 875-1518 until the first of the month. If that date changes, I will let all relevant parties know well ahead of time. If it does change, it would most likely be by roughly a week’s time only.
Upon re-establishment of the studio site, I will have additional new contact information for all clients. I will be creating a new, specialized E-mail account for existing clients only that are currently waiting for their orders so that I may correspond with them separate from general site inquiries. This address will be established between the 25th of November and the first of December. Roughly 3 weeks from now. I will also have new contact phone numbers as soon as the relocation is complete.
If anyone has ANY questions regarding orders, this relocation, etc, Please conact me at any time. However, for those specific pre-existing clients that are currently in the waiting process, I am setting aside a 48 hour period specifically devoted to those client calls and e-mails on November 12th and 13th next week. I will be available between the hours of 9:A.M. Pacific time to Midnight Pacific time on both days for phone correspondence, and all ours in between for E-mail business and inquiries.
PLEASE: I would ask all clients currently waiting for orders to send me a confirmation e-mail for correspondence on the dates and times listed herein. Please place the following in the heading, as I will be creating a separate file this purpose specifically…"
