Well, that\'s not actually true, if you\'re talking about what I think you are. The plan is to allow a company in the United Arab Emirates to take control over the port security at 5 or 6 (?) large ports in the US. The company currently in control is a British company, but could be sold to the UAE.
The issue is that two terrorists from the 9/11 bombings were UAE citizens and some of the money that funded it went through the UAE. Apparently Bush didn\'t even know about it until after the deal began. The proponents of the deal are saying that the US will still man the ports and no jobs will change hands and everything will remain the same with the exception of the upper management. The opponents are saying that we are backstabbing our own country by letting a nation that (even though they are our ally) has harbored terrorists in the past take over the port authority. You decide for yourself.
Don\'t take this the wrong way, but you should try and get the facts straight before posting about something you may have heard...that\'s how rumors start.
And by the way, I\'m not a Bush supporter. so I have no motive in trying to sway your opinion...just trying to put the facts out there.
