I do not like to get involved with these conversations, at least not on this board, but just to clear a few things up...
\"President Bush is facing political pressure to block a deal that would give a United Arab Emirates-based company management of six major U.S. seaports.\"
1.) A \"United Arab Emirates-based company\" is NOT Iraq.
2.) The UAE is NOT buying \"US ports\" the UAE is going to manage those ports
3.) The UAE would only run the business end of this deal, while the Coast Guard and PSA would maintain the security end.
We are not letting UAE control security personel, they simply will own the finacial holdings of these ports. The port security at the present time is not anything to be proud of, but from what I hear the UAE have their shit together security wise. That, on top of our current security, and the media hype of a potential security breakdown will only increase the security of these ports.
comprende?
I would be more concerned with terrorists smuggling nuclear warheads across our mexican borders.
...well so much for trying to keep that short
