I watched a sad thing about Irwin last night, and although the though of dangling your child over a wild crocodile in it\'s environment is extreme, the way he and his wife explained their actions made sense...
they say then when introducing their young son into the world of wild and scary animals, they knew that if they waited too long, there would be a fear between the animal and their son....and they say that the #1 rule is that animals can sense fear
bringing his son into the environment early enough in his life would ensure him to understand and feel confertable with these animals at a young age
(its kind of the same with horror, most of us here have watched it since we were very young, and although it did scare us at times, growing up knowing its all fake helped get us through the night)
