Quote:Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on this one. I recieved an email this morning saying my paypal account that I use for fun stuff and ebay, needed to be updated. So like an idiot, trusting paypal and maybe just being naive on my part, i entered my CC info and was done.
There was about 200 bucks in my checking account at the time. When I checked it 3 hours later, i had a balance of -951.28. Someone had wired money from my checking account thru WesternUnion.com.
When I called WU fraud dept. I was told that they had built a profile, ME  , and attempted to tranfer money 4 times totalling about 5,000 dollars to the Dominican Republic. For some reason even though there was only 200 and some change in the account the a- holes still got 951.28. Luckily Chase covered my dumbass and its not costing me anything, but i still have to change my passwords, get a new debit card, just a pain in the rear.
The reason im writing this is to give you guys all a heads up to look out for this crap. The page looked 100% real, it fooled the hell out of me. Just be careful, i would hate to see someone really lose thier ass to one of these lowlifes.

The Paypal site and *real* emails are LITTERED with warnings against this kind of stuff. That said, I\'m sorry to hear that you fell for it. There\'s way too much scum in the world today. You should be more cautious with "Paypal" emails, and only handle any and all problems DIRECTLY through the www.paypal.com website.
Cheers,
Ryan
