Quote:I’m going to Dragon Con in Atlanta at the end of August. Last year I wore my costume and had my dull metal machete and they said I couldn’t carry it around with me. So I figured if it is plastic they cant say that again.
Quote:They are heavy duty aluminum blades but they are very well done and
if you told the guys at HauntCon that it was aluminum then I bet they\'d let you in with it.
Here\'s my info on Aluminum. Hope this clears some of the misconceptions.
Dictionary Definition of aluminum:
"A silvery-white, ductile metallic element, the most abundant in the earth\'s crust but found only in combination, chiefly in bauxite. Having good conductive and thermal properties, it is used to form many hard, light, corrosion-resistant alloys."
Hope this cleared a few things up. I feel much better with this off my chest.
Below I\'ve posted the periodic table of elements. The \'Blue\' Section is where you find the transition metals. Aluminum\'s atomic # is 13 and its Symbol is Al. There ya go, hope this helps. B)
Summary: Yes folks, aluminum is a metal as it is not in the \'Non-metal\' Section.
