Just Got Back From Halloween

I went w/ my fiancee to see this film on Saturday and it pretty much met my expectations. I wasn't impressed, but I wasn't entirely let down. The language and gore was definitely overboard and not needed to that extent at all - but of course RZ's vision is always bloody/gory and filled w/ every word in the book so that was expected. I loved loved loved the mask pre-burial! It looked freakin sick and I died laughing when Michael put it on... good call Rob. I wasn't a fan of it w/ the rot/stitches because it reminded me of chucky too much. I liked how Rob kept true to the original in some scenes and a few of his casting choices were great... aside from his wife. One thing that really disappointed me was the fact that all RZ concentrated on was the aggression of Michael and less on the mystery and psychology of his character. All in all I guess it was interesting nonetheless. I don't plan on buying the DVD... but if it drops to the $6 bargain bin I'll pick it up. 6 out of 10 stars
