The highway from the airport in Madison was closed from Thursday night until after we left on Sunday. The promoter was able to get all the guest in by early Friday night until late Friday night since he knew the back roads. The 45min drive from the airport took 2-4 hours depending on your luck and road savy.By 5pm Friday when it was supposed to kick off I was one of 3 people who showed up, again due to the weather conditions. By about 7:00 all the guests except Dick (Roy) were there. So basically we took as much time as we wanted with each guest (10-30 minutes). They were all in bad moods but were professional about it. By about 8:00pm everyone (1/2 dozen attendees, 6 or so staff and all the guests) just made there way to the restaurant and bar and just ate and drank all night. So on the first night we ate and drank with 6 Jasons! Ari is a party animal, I can testify to that. Saturday was a repeat of Friday, with a couple more day-pass attendees straggling through, but again not much was going on, just hanging out again. It was perfect for my buddy and I, but I'm sure the promoter lost a ton of $$$. It can only go better next year though. Since we got all the autographs and photos in about an hour the first night (that took us all weekend at the last Fangoria con in New Jersey) we had tons of time to enjoy all the theme parks and water parks in the area during the afternoons and visit with the guests in the morning and all night.I've got a ton of video and pics, but its on my buddies camcorder. There is some gold on there of Ari doing his thing. I'll post a link when its ready. There was a professional audio/video company on site the whole weekend and they did 1on1 interviews with each guest as well. We mostly hung out with them after hours and I actually wrote all the questions for the interviews. The video will be for sale in a couple months, hopefully they'll release some snip-its on youtube or something.PS. Ruste Dowg: You'll be happy to know Richard Brooker, Jason III himself, has held my Ruste Dowg "The Classic" in his hands....Larry Zerner "Shelly" too!Over all it was definately something I will never forget. And I bet the guests will remember us at the next con we see them at!
