If it was made by an amateur and there were large air bubbles in the mixture then it was not done right. An advantage I see w/ fiberglass is its ability to withstand high temperatures. An abs or styrene mask left in a car on a hot day could melt or distort badly. Probably part of the reason the last 3 jason movies have used fiberglass for their masks.
