Try not to worry too much. This is a good thing actually. The fact that the doctors are going in and fixing things hopefully means that it didn't get that bad yet. Once this is done, they'll monitor things afterwards to make sure he stays well...Hang in there man! I'll say an extra prayer for you and yours..DaveChainsaw9
