The whole thing is the tri's and claiming they are Jason/Friday the 13th masks. When i stated all those years ago i used the above words and my auctions were pulled, it's not just one person out there contacting ebay, i had someone contact me once saying they had reported my auction because it was fraud, i agreed to certain degree but asked them what business it was of theirs and they informed me they were employed by new line to track people like myself down and issue CandD's. 4 weeks later i got the CandD hand delivered to my front door due to my ebay listings and website.I spent around an hour on the phone to New Line trying to sort the whole thing out and come to some compromises on both sides so i could continue, i stood my ground and here i still am, because of my involvement with Fright Stuff they took my stance seriously. I was also asked if i wanted to become licensed but after looking into it the cut they wanted to take meant they would be taking 85% of the profit and i turned it away. What surprised me was how much info they had on myself and other makers, once the agreement was reached that i was complying with the terms i spoke to another representative who had info on my activities on line and not just ebay, he said i had been tracked on night owl and mm.net for well over a year, he quoted things he could have only known looking at threads on the forums. Be aware just because you don't hear from them doesn't mean they aren't watching you, if they can prove your sales they can issue you with a claim and court order to pay them the money for the transactions they have on record. I always thought they would never bother with me because i was too small but they really came after me, i was just lucky i had a layer in the family and being connected to Fright Stuff. If your going to list masks on ebay painted by yourselves i would suggest saying they are from your personal collection. Writing up a listing making yourself look really pro seller/maker and reliable makes no difference, in my opinion it makes people look desperate, correct true information and good feedback are all you need to sell and besides if someone likes the mask they don't really care who painted or made it they will just bid it up for the way it looks. I understand why guys do it, i did it once too but the ego thing is not needed, it's the strength of your work that counts.
