Because they will be everything Dren mentioned. Horror is not what it used to be. To try to shock and scare is one thing but, to try and shock and scare by having 1,000 gallons of blood spew out of a paper cut reeks of being desperate. Go see the original TCM to see what I'm getting at. Everything nowadays just relies on getting as much blood into a scene as possible.And here's a great idea.....Just stop remaking classic horror films altogether.
