I don\'t buy all that crap about how it\'s an "artist\'s right" to change it, etc. I am an artist and I just can\'t see that. As pessimistic as George was about the movie to begin with (he was worried it would be crap) he should thank his stars (no pun intended) that it was so well received. I\'m a purist when it comes to Star Wars. It stood for something for 20 years. THE WAY IT WAS. No changes were necessary to keep us interested. In 1997 he could\'ve cleaned them up a little, re-did the sound and been done with it. We still would\'ve flocked to see a re-release, and people still would\'ve bought the DVDs (probably more so) this Tuesday. George cares nothing about the fans. If you watch him in interviews, it\'s always about him, his vision, his this and that, blah blah. And forget Episodes 1-3, they\'re crap, plain and simple. Think of how many story arcs he has now destroyed by making those little gems! Boba Fett used to be my favorite character, but now seeing him as a little kid SUCKED! Some people actually like the mystery of certain characters. That intrigue lets us draw our own conclusions and makes characters exciting. That\'s why complete sets of lines had to be changed in this new boxed set, because George painted himself into a corner with these Eps 1-3.
After Episode 3 they need to lock him away in a home somewhere, because I agree...He has completely lost his mind, and lost that vision that made those movies what they were in the first place.
There was a quote on a shirt I saw on a website recently (sorry, the name escapes me) but it said:
...a long time ago in a galaxy far far away...HAN SHOT FIRST!
