Okay, I'm going to go on and throw my 2 cents in here since you're looking for honest comments. Let me first start off by saying that if you feel that anything I say is being too brash or harsh I apologize, I'm just trying to shoot you straight. That being said...here goes...You are rushing into this and not taking the time to get the basic form down first. This was the problem with your Fred sculpt as well. The issue that you have in both the Fred sculpt and this one is the head just doesn't look right at all. It's not about the details or anything at this point, you've just not got the basic form down. The head in this and the other sculpt is mis-shapen in that it's too compressed down and looks too boxy. It reminds me a lot of the way the heads always looked on Batman in Batman the Animated series...the ones with the semi-square caps, jaws and chins. They both kind of looked like bulked up muscle bound versions of their real life counterparts.I understand what you are trying to do with adding either adding the detail in as you go, or trying to get something that you can be proud of quickly. Sculpting does not work like that. If you're going to devote the time to paying homage to anything then devote the time to doing it right. A great sculpt is not finished in just a couple of weeks. Even for a seasoned pro you'd be hard pressed to find someone pulling out something amazing that fast. There are a few that can do it, but not many. Most great people who sculpt can take months making that perfect ...no scratch that...they can take months making a sculpt that they are truely proud of. If this is your first attempt and you're really trying to start sculpting, you need to slow it back down and take it slow. If you want to update that's fine, but don't start throwing in details when the form isn't even right yet. Now, here's what I think you need to correct...any sculptors out there, please correct me if you feel you need to.1. Form: The head itself is just not shaped right, it looks too much like a box with eyes and huge ears.2. Brow: The brow is WAYYYYYY too exagerated. Above the eyes is pointing out so far it makes it too hard to not look at it and notice the rest of the sculpt.3. The face itself is too flat. While this falls under form, I feel that it needs to be addressed. The mouth is pushed too far back into the face and from under the nose down to the chin it looks almost like a straight line.My closing point...TAKE YOUR TIME. If you want it to be a good sculpt then just slow down and make it one. Don't keep posting hoping that someone is going to tell you that you're doing an amazing job, because you're just rushing too much. That being said...I do in fact think that you are off to a great start and I hope that you continue to develop your skill. God knows I don't have the patience to do it. Also I'd like to add that one reason I think I might be coming off as so critical is because Fred and Pinhead are two of my absolute favorite villians.Keep working, keep us updated, have fun and continue to post pics of your progress,-Joseph
