Man . . . my first hockey mask came from an ad out of the back of Fangoria way back in 1987. Over that summer, my buddy and me ordered 3 of them in total. We spent a grand total of $20 each for the masks. LOL Hey, that was tough for a kid to come by back then. The masks were some rubbery injection molded plastic that was obviously homemade. They were fairly big and looked pretty damn good for what they were. I remember the elastic straps were held on with thumbtacks. Hahaha! I still have one of them boxed up somewhere. The other ones changed to refelect the movies as they came out. So by the time JGTH came out, it was all to pieces. Here's the ad . . .Then around 1989, my buddy and I sat in my dads workshop with a stack of the plastic glow-in-the-dark 8-holes and converted them to movie style masks, part 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. We had one for each of us. I found photos of a couple of them, but I no longer have the masks. So here's one of the first hockey masks I EVER painted painted way back in 1989!
