And if you can't give dialogue in a convincing fashion... it pulls the audience out of the movie. Movies give us moments where we can step out of reality and into a make believe world (unless depicting actual events). But if the actors can't give lines in a convincing fashion... we'll remember at all times that we're just watching a movie instead of tricking our minds that what we're seeing is real for those 2 hours.
