Your light attracts them, but do you REALLY wanna turn off your light with one of those things heading towards you in the dark like that? Screw that. I'm guessing you're right about the gas, it probably saved you guys. I'm glad ya'll kept your cool and didn't freak and go for shore in a panic. Staying with the boat is 99% the right thing to do. Also, yer buddy was smart getting one of those waterproof flashlights and having good batteries in them. Too bad about the water box.. most of those are just for blocking sprayed water, not being submerged. My friends dad always used to use a ziplock bag for everything in the box, I always thought it was kinda' anal of him at the time, but makes a lot of sense now.Glad everything worked out, too bad about yer boat though.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndThanks man! Yeah you need the light to get other boats to see you as well. And like you and I said that gas although burning the SHI out of us, it probably kept them away. And that is a great idea about keeping your stuff in zip locks. And man I was not about to swim to shore unless it was a last resort...too scary for me! Plus then we find out that its mating season for the gators which makes them more aggressive. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":o\" border=\"0\" alt=\"ohmy.gif\" />
