Wes was never even contacted or asked about participating in this remake. Wes said that seeing NOES being remade is very painful to him because he completely sold the rights of the Franchise when he made the original film. So, it's painful to him because he isn't going to make any money from it. But it would have been nice to see Wes' input with the making of the film since he is the creator of it all. But business is business and when he sold the rights, he lost control. Sad but true.
