Think of it this way: Had they originally created Freddy as a real burn victim and made his face look authentically burned, this it probably what he should have looked like. The classic Freddy we know doesn't look like a real burn victim. But I do agree... it's hard to swallow at first because we've been watching Freddy for over 2 decades now. Change like this is sometimes hard to accept.
