Or would you be find with an original story and still have Jackie as Freddy?<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndYa I would be completely fine with a sequel with a new actor as Freddy. I actually think Jackie will make a really cool and more realistic Freddy.... I'm sure I would not go see it in the theater but I would rent it...... as I will this remake. I'm sure it will be enjoyable to watch. I'm not saying that the remakes cant be fun. I'm just saying that they are un-original. I would rather see many new franchises made. SAW for example is not my favorite thing, but it was new and has spawned numerous sequels. I just wish more films like Trick R Treat were made. For me, remakes are only good when the remake is better then the original or has the potential to be better then the original. The Hills Have Eyes for example..... The original is a cult classic but honestly it is very low budget and poorly done. And you brought up King Kong before..... King Kong needed to be remade in my opinion with CGI. That is the only true way that story could be fully envisioned on film. All only my opinion ofcourse....The AWIL remake will be an abomination. Mark my words.
