I'm glad platinum isn't doing it.I think that new Jason films should go the direction of that old lady in the remake.. The townsfolks know people disappear from there, and sightings of Jason have occurred.. "there's a legend in these parts".. etc.Shift the focus away from explaining him, and stop having people out there that don't know he's there.. start going the route of legends, dares, kids trying to be toughguys in the woods being reduced to whimpering idiots.. that kinda' stuff.Make him a stalker again, have him patrol and protect his privacy on his land. the locals and authorities know about him, but are powerless to do anything about him. He leaves them alone as long as they leave HIM alone. I have plenty of ideas along those lines that would make it a beleivable film, and provide a vehicle that future sequels can also use without "definately killing him off" everytime they want to end the film.If nothing else, they need to be more conscious of future sequels.. leave openings for them so that the next guy that wants to write a film about him, doesn't have to ignore/ redefine elements and plot points in-order to make his film work. The less they focus on the reality of Jason's existance, the more unknown he becomes and this permits him to generate the fear he SHOULD be generating, rather than overly defining him and stripping all that away.
