I felt the pacing of the film was a bit too fast, but considering I wasn't looking for much in this remake (or should I say "expecting much"), I actually enjoyed it for getting into things right away. This truly reinvented Freddy. If you're a diehard ANOES fan, and uncomfortable with change, I don't think you'll like this movie. This isn't even close to the Freddy we've all grown to love. His motives are different. He is far more menacing (whether that's for the good or bad).I thoroughly enjoyed Haley's Freddy performance. He made the roll his own, and that's something Platinum Dunes was looking for. I was concerned with his voice from the trailers and released clips, but when I finally saw it on screen, I was blown away. I'd also have to say, his "look" was incredible in this one. The behind the scene pictures, screen shots taken from the trailers, and one or two released pictures, do not even compare to how it looked in the film.Samuel Bayer did a great job in my opinion, especially for a first time film. The imagery was intense and unique. I know some people didn't like the editing of the nightmares, but I feel it's odd cut style is what defined its creepy feel. Nightmares don't have to make sense, and things change in them all the time.At first I thought I wouldn't like the new style, but considering it this way, I think it's great to have two different versions of Freddy (the classic VS the modern). As others said, this film was neither good nor bad. Either way, if you're a horror fan, it is certainly worth a look. I'd certainly put this film as Platinum Dunes second best remake next to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
