I think what made the new film less creepy was the over-polished look of the film on screen. It made the CGI look really fake and took me out of the film, plus I was really hoping they would burn Freddy at the end instead of chopping his head and hand off but whatever. Jackie did a pretty nice job as freddy though, so props to him for getting into character and even wearing the glove while at home to get use to it and really get into the Freddy character. I liked this remake better than the Friday remake for numerous reasons. I really like how they made an effort to pay an homage to the original and even use a couple lines from the original series "How's this for a wet dream?" but I seriously wish they would have tried to better those scenes (the bath tub scene was half hiney in the remake and too safe).
