It\'s all good Bro. I\'m just tired of people putting down Fiberglass Hockey’s because they bought one from someone who was inexperienced in making them and they think they\'re all like that.
If they were to stop and think, the mask that started it all was based on the Fibrosport Hockey mask, a fiberglass mask. (Which I pointed out to the lawyers of Warner Brothers when we got a C&D and that\'s why they now say that the Triangles are what\'s copyrighted trademarked.) Anyway, production cost, and durability on set, drove the F/X department to start making ABS masks and they followed throughout the series.
Once David Miller offered the ABS masks on his site everyone had to have the ABS masks and it became standard. If everyone wants to be that accurate with the masks, they should buy a DM mask and leave it at that.
There are dangers associated with the fiberglass if precautions are not taken. With that said, so is Vacuum Forming ABS and Styrene, soldering blades on F. Gloves, painting hockey masks, carrying machetes, wearing F. Gloves, and the list goes on.
When sanding my hockey masks, you are only sanding the Gel coat, not the fiberglass cloth. When drilling the holes, the only dust that comes off is resin, again not the cloth.
Anyway, I\'ll leave the subject at that because I don\'t want to start any wars of conflict. I posted my hockey masks because the thread was "Wanted: Hockey Mask blanks."
