yeah that\'s something I\'ve learned recently. Painting with latex is limiting. You see these amazing paintjobs by Casey Love, etc. And wonder, "why don\'t my masks look like that?" and it\'s because of the latex. I\'m trying to figure out tricks and such, but latex painting is limited, clogs up the airbrush, can be annoying as hell. There\'s a big difference between painting something with acrylics/pax paints, and painting it mixed with latex to be worn. I always used to wonder, "why do some busts look so great and some masks look so crappy?" Now I know, it\'s not the skill of the painter, (well, sometimes it is) but it\'s also alot of the limitations of painting with latex.
Moral: If you see a highly detailed well painted mask for sale, buy that fugger. Cuz it\'s rare. And convincingly realistic *imo* fleshtones or humanesque masks are the hardest. It\'s easy to paint a bloody monster with latex, alot harder to try and make a mask look \'real\'
oh yeah, ........ Duck Season!
