I think part 1 was the first Friday flick I saw... It was on tv one night and I went in the basement to watch it in the dark...I was around 8 years old or so. I kept running upstairs during the commercials \'cause I was scared....lol. Like Dan, I was renting horror flicks by myself since around 8 or 9 years old, though it all began when I was 4 and saw Halloween the first time it aired on tv in 1981.
Friday the 13th part 3 was the next, I believe. I rented that at age 9 with a friend. We were alone in my house watching it and at the part where the woman in the robe at the beginning sees Jason disappear outside the window, my brother jumped through our screen door with a hockey mask and scared the friggin\' hell out of us. Since then it;s been a blur...I ust kept renting them all over and over again. I got to se part 7 and 9 in the theaters though, which was cool as hell. I also saw part 3 in 3D in the theater (a couple years ago at an art house here).
It is funny to me when I hear people on these boards talk about seeing the later ones (JGTH, FvJ) as their first Friday films...only because to me, these experiences feel like they were yesterday and I forget just how many years have gone by since I was a kid watching these things...especially because I still do the same thing now that I\'m older, married, etc... I mean, the earlier Friday flicks had only been around maybe a year or so when I was watching them. To me, JGTH still seems like a \"new\" Friday film...and it came out 12 years ago. Weird. Anyway, sorry for the rant...it\'s early...
