Well, by all logic, the egg came before the chicken we all know today. Through gradual evolution the chicken would have changed drastically over a few million years, starting as basic primordial ooze, and eventually sprouting legs, arms/wings etc until it was a very basic, very small form of flightless lizard. Again through evolution, it\'s small arms/wings came to take the shape we know today, it lost it\'s scales and grew feathers etc. Steady progression continued, and it eventually arrived at the state it is in today, but, the very first \'actual\' chicken did come out of an egg, hence the egg came first.
