sorry to hear that but i'm thankful that you all are ok . i'd rather have something happen to the boat than to you guys as you can always get a new boat . i'm sure it was pretty scary and a shame that water box didn't work like it was supossed to <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"confused.gif\" /> mike,

wow.. yeah gator eyes in the dark water are pretty scary. Your light attracts them, but do you REALLY wanna turn off your light with one of those things heading towards you in the dark like that? Screw that. I'm guessing you're right about the gas, it probably saved you guys. I'm glad ya'll kept your cool and didn't freak and go for shore in a panic. Staying with the boat is 99% the right thing to do. Also, yer buddy was smart getting one of those waterproof flashlights and having good batteries in them. Too bad about the water box.. most of those are just for blocking sprayed water, not being submerged. My friends dad always used to use a ziplock bag for everything in the box, I always thought it was kinda' anal of him at the time, but makes a lot of sense now.Glad everything worked out, too bad about yer boat though.

I know that there's a greater chance of being struck by lightning, but in my mind I would be the one that it happened to. Yeah you need the light to get other boats to see you as well. And like you and I said that gas although burning the SHI out of us, it probably kept them away. And that is a great idea about keeping your stuff in zip locks. And man I was not about to swim to shore unless it was a last resort...too scary for me! Plus then we find out that its mating season for the gators which makes them more aggressive. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":o\" border=\"0\" alt=\"ohmy.gif\" />

This was caught last year in the river we were in...SCARY!!!The 640-pound gator was caught in four long and exhausting hours. The men relied on hooks, arrows, and buoys, but not guns. The gator was first spotted two weeks ago just north of Lake Washington on the St. Johns River.
