Remake Mask - These 2 Masks One In The Same?

Same with the vs, also because they vary so much throughout the film and there is a lot to study (at least that's one thing I like so much,....the changes)! With the remake, I just hit my hand on my forehead when I realized that the main mask was the same one as the beginning/Nolan/woodchipper mask, because although the similarities are there, it doesn't become readilty apparent until you look on a much closer level. I talked myself out of it a few times until I really enhanced them for comparison! At first, I tried comparing just the triangle markings on the head and face but the fX guys made these SO close in some cases, that proved to be a very poor way of studying them. Out of the 6 masks made, no 2 masks are exactly the same even though at first glance, they sort of look very close. I have my montage of all the masks. As soon as i find it, I'll post it. I only identified 5 of the 6, but the 6th one is supposedly a stunt mask from what I hear, and so therefore it might not be easy to match on screen. I have found 5 completely different masks though......the main mask, the mask that floats to the bottom of the lake, the mask that Jason pops up out of the lake with, the mask that Jason confronts Whitney with, the mask worn during the bus scene (I actually mis-spoke in my last post, the mask used in the first confrontation with Whitney was only used for that one scene. Another mask was used for the bus scene, as well as for Trent's death). I can't find the 6th mask :-)Rich

excellent photo analysis. i agree its the same mask, and a different mask than was sold at the profiles in history auction.

Its also the lighting in the movie. Its like part 3 it looks white in some scenes and off yellow in other scenes but it was one color. Just like the Remake its a little hard to tell because of the lighting.

Yeah the lighting made this very very difficult to figure out. But I really wanted to try and match all the masks on screen, to see their usage. At first, I thought I had found all 6, as I thought these were two separate masks, but then I realized otherwise. Once I find my mask montage of all the masks, I'll post them, it's pretty interesting I think.Oh, and the one at profiles, the one that sold for $53,000 (which includes buyer's premium), was only used for the 3 second shot at the end of the film where Jason explodes out of the doc. The mask that floats to the bottom of the lake was a different mask. The outfit that accompanied it was also just used in the water. Not sure if the buyer knows that but I'm sure he/she doesn't care lol. I wouldn't!Rich

Oh, and to those who stated these were two different masks, no worries, this was really a tough analysis and not one that was going to be obvious. I sat down with this for quite a while before it became apparent, and even then I was back and forth a few times until the signs of matches finally stuck out. At a quick glance, these DO seem like two completely different masks, and the distressing gets so bad on the one on the right, I do not fault anyone for being of that opinion based only on those two photos. I thought it would be fun to reveal the evidence little by little to see the opinions as they come in. Thanks again to everyone who gave their opinion. Rich

Lighting will change the colors greatly, so you can not go by colors alone. Look at what lighting did to the 3,4 and 5 hockey masks.
