First Decent Look At The Neca Part 3 And 4 Hockey Masks!

i know this will probably get someone\'s nuts in a twist but to me that looks it "could" have come from a frightstuff mask. i\'m not saying it is and i\'m not saying it\'s not but those bumps on the top of the mask look pretty familiar whether it\'s a frightstuff or not.

if it didn\'t come from a movie mask there\'s very few places it could have came from.

So then where\'d most of the hockey masks on the FS site come from ? Now to me , in that pic it looks as if the cheek tri\'s on the part 3 are backwards .... But for licenced stuff you can\'t really expect much I guess .

Regardless, NECA currently owns the rights for official reproduction and sale of this hockey mask design. Tarallo does not and never will. It\'s a non-issue.

With that said, I don\'t believe NECA recasted Tarallo at all. In my opinion, the shape (what I can see) of those masks in the display case is far too accurate to the part 6 style to be from one of Tarallo\'s 3/4 molds. Who knows, though. We\'ll probably have to wait and see when these pieces arrive in stores later this year, judging by the almost *complete* lack of picture evidence surfacing from SDCC so far.

Are we really gonna turn this thread into a "Bash FrightStuff and its owner" thread???

Auz only stated his opinion and even went as far as to say he was NOT claiming, only wondering.

If you have been in this hobby for more than a month, you have already heard the claims for and against Kens stuff........and personally, I think most of us are tired of hearing it. Ken\'s work is nice and so are the hockey masks that come from others like JDF and FiberGlass Masks..........everyone buys and supports whoever they want to. Besides........it isn\'t like coming off the actual buck makes it worth more or less.......I think we all know that the paint job is what REALLY makes it a great piece of art.

I think the NECA masks are also nice looking. I too am wondering if the damage will be scratched in or simply painted on like their previous works.........but given what these masks are made of and the prices that they sell for, I think they look really nice. I\'m looking forward to picking a few of these up.

The only person who\'s said anything about an "argument" or whatever is you. Sounds like you\'re over-blowing the situation and creating a problem where there isn\'t one. Kinda reminds me of people who like to intrude into conversations and yell "CALM DOWN!!!" at you when nobody involved is even upset...

By the way, many of the details on those particular masks look both painted and scratched/buffed. I hope those additional details don\'t destroy all the surface detail, though...I\'d much prefer them to be 100% painted so that people can choose to have their masks redone by other artists.

I don\'t think anyone has been uncivil yet. So far it\'s just standard conversation. It\'s when people flat out say "don\'t bash Frightstuff" that an argument typically breaks out. (no offense)

The one thing I do kind of notice is that the nose appears to be less defined and/or thinner. Could just be the angle tho?

Death Curse:I wasn\'t trying to start anything.......I was making an open observation as to where I seen the conversation going, thats all. All I said was Auz made a comment and then things started swinging more towards if NECA used a FrightStuff mask to make their mold. What I said is true.......like it or not. It does seem that every 3-4 months someone starts the "Kens stuff is crap" or "Ken is a liar" stuff and the forum is riddled with opinions that we all have read, thought, heard or said before.I meant no harm to you, Auz or anyone.........I just didn\'t want a thread about NECA\'s product to turn into a thread about Ken Tarallo\'s claims of this or that. I apologize if my comments seemed rude or as if I were flaming in the thread, they were not meant to do either one of those.........I said what I said to try and keep things about NECA and not Ken Tarallo.

What I simply meant by my comment earlier was that people always stand behind Ken and defend him against " recasters " but then how did Ken get a hold of the X mask and Remake if he had nothing to do with those creations as they are very different from the part 3 that he made ? I\'m just not understanding how it\'s ok for one person to " aquire " such a mask like those and not ok for someone else ? Some or maybe most may not agree with my questions but it\'s something that could be talked about in a calm manor without pointing fingers or start name calling .
