Check this out... do some comparing with the soldering patterns that are still visible. Especially the left-hand side of the blade on the ring finger. You can still see the solder line quite clearly and as you can see... it matches. You can also still faintly see the original staining of the backplat from the opening scene of Nightmare 1 and the stain is the same. I think the Hero has finally been identified. There are also many other tiny details I can see that are clearly on the original Hero that are too hard to explain right now. I'll try to put together some photos to show you what I'm talking about later this evening.

Am I seeing something weird or does it look like the finger joints aren't attached in that screen cap that was posted? Looks like a little gap between them.

What you are seeing are, in fact, rubberbands holding the metal to Robert's gloved hand. The backplate was also not attached to the glove yet in that photo. I'll have more photos and images later tonight that should convince everyone that this truly is the Part 1 Hero that was supposedly missing.

Maybe Mark can clarify...but, I do remember reading somewhere that since most films are shot out of sequence the glove was later put together. I think I also remember reading the glove building scene at the begining of the film was actually shot last. I could be wrong on all of this...somebody correct me if I am.

I have found at least 6 tiny details that would only be found on the Hero and I'll point them all out later after I get off work.

Wow, I am so stoked to see this thing all these years later. A historic prop if ever there was one. Is that leather glove in the photo the original as well ? .....if so, you mean to tell me someone removed it from the armature or did the leather rot away from the riviets ?

well aside from the ring finger with the solder spills , i don't see anything that really matches with the screen caps <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"confused.gif\" /> . can you get any good pics of the rest of the fingers and backplate to closely examine it more ? i see that the rivets holding the fingers on the plate are different sizes and that could help out much more as i don't think most glove makers would goo that far in the detailing of their gloves but then i could be wrong . plus what's with all that green on it too ? mike,

Great hi-res pic, Mark. You can see remainders of red markings and solder spills that look very much like the hero's. Also some telling features for me:1) The rivet placement on the knuckle joints (e.g. the ring finger's rivet being slightly farther down)2) Look at the left side of the lower middle finger stall, at the edge near the knuckle rivet, where there is a little "hiccup" in the cut and it juts out.
