They may not be 100% accurate, but they (Dern, I done gone and growed another head) well aren't "extremely cartoonish." Justin follows human anatomy, and sculpts realistically. But this isn't the point... the point of this thread is helping you out. I'd suggest sculpting over and over again, like mybankey said. Don't mold things right away, and when sculpting think about the skull and muscles underneath the skin. That whole "beginner's don't do good sculptures" attitude is what keeps you back man. If you THINK you can sculpt greatly, then I'm sure with enough effort you will do so! I've seen some artists do incredible on there first attempt. You say you want to become an aritst? You can't become an artist just by SCULPTING... You MUST learn the fundamentals (ie: SCULPTING THE HUMAN HEAD!). Buy Mark Alfrey's DVD, sculpting the Human Head, that helped me out a ton. Sure, it's not the character that you'd LIKE to do, but there are steps to getting better.

i really dig the look of your masks.they are different in a way thats is you. if you like them that is all that matters, but you souldn't take to heart what anyone else says. you will only grow and become a better artist in the long run. remember rome wasn't built in a day.

The Raw 3 kicks the crap out of any part 7!Justin's masks are Cartoonish? The only "Cartoonish" masks of Justin's are the ones that are based on cartoon monsters.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndI loved the Raw 3! I've owned the Raw 2 as well. Both excellent pieces... definately not cartoonish lol.As for your own sculpt CDP.... I vote JASON X.

To be honest, Justin's old work was my favorite work by him. Masks like Hackhead, Raw 2, even his original work on Hack and the Mutant, just unbeatable. Especially that original From Hell. If anything, his newer masks are geared towards that comic book horror look that Justin seems to love. It just suites his style soooo well.Though maybe an armature head would help you get anatomy right... the placement is just all over the place on your sculpts. Sizes of things like the eyes. For you to say you nailed the anatomy on the Pluto is a little absurd. Not to insult your work, but for you to simply say your a beginner that your not going to try to make the sculpt as great as possible before molding is a little upsetting, especially knowing myself how hard it is to get anatomy down right.Goodluck man, i say try to take your next sculpt slow. We all mean our comments with intentions of helping.

part 8; I'd buy one if it looks decent. I kind of liked the part 7 you did and a part 8 in what people are calling cartoonish might look good for part 8 IMO.

i know this topic is sorta old but can i vote on a part 6 here i would like to see what you do with that i want to sculpt a few jasons my self and i havent even begun because hell i dont know how to start sculpting and my place of living i would be working at the end of my backyard which is fine with me but take it easy i have heard alot from alot of artists and so far that i know of nothing is easy about making a mask unless you have 30 years under your belt and can say hey im gonna make this mask real quick im not sure who can do that but its just an example the unlucky part 7 is different and nothing is wrong with that your gonna get better at it and this excludes the unlucky 7because its exactly how you wanted it to be am i right?? because you have a passion for it im also sure that you dream about your next sculpt its something i believe all beginning and veterans do......so go luck on it and dont give up <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" />
