The TCM remake was a phenomenal film, no doubt. As a diehard TCM fan, I loved it. But to say it topped the original....?...no way, no how. Not in any way shape or form. The original was the closest thing to capturing a nightmare on film. As for NOTLD, the Romero b&w is THE best zombie film ever, bar none.........Larry<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndagreed.

The Blob and Little shop of horrors are the only ones I can think of.Tom Savini's Night of the living dead is about as equally good as the original. That's the only ones I can think of at the momentAnd while the original Dawn Of The dead's effects haven't aged well, I like it better cause it has a deeper message while the remake had none of the social commentary or memorable characters. It's more like 28 days later wannabe with a different title to capitalize on a old classic.I haven't seen the Friday the 13th or Halloween remake, nor will I ever bother.

I'd MUCH rather of seen people in make up/costumes than what they did. They almost looked like cartoon characters at times.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndDef agree with you on that, though I did enjoy the film and Will SMith's performance a lot.

I pretty much agree with what most of you have said. And while its not horror, I thought War of the Worlds was an excellent remake.

I'm surprised to see so many people that like the Last house remake better than the original. Personally I thought they failed to capture what Wes did in the original, the realism wasn't there at all.

Sorry Rich. You know I got yo back when it comes to your pieces though....lol. For me people who use the argument about "social commentary" are reading wayyyy too much into it. So Romero said people were eaten with consumerism. Yeah, and? Who didn't realize that? To say the remake of Dawn didn't have memorable characters needs to re-watch it..............................Larry
