BTW, i am not stating this WILL happen, I said I WISH it would happen. I think we all know this will be a modern day set crappy, night time, gut and gore, 5,000 gallons of blood, movie... Jason shouldnt be a monster. What I do agree on with you is that if he was somewhat like Pluto, the movie may be okay.

I don't want him like Pluto (the look did look kind of like pt.3 jason/4) , I think Michael Bailey Smith is perfect size and stature and great at adding character to the roles he plays. John Carpenter's remake of The Thing took place the year it was made.and where did you hear about Pamela being raped by her uncle? have you got a link to a credible source?

Im pretty sure the rape thing was posted on Bloody-Disgusting, im not positive.Well what about the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake? Took place in 1973, that was the great part about it. And seeing that brutal leatherface was not a dissapointment, because he was plaid off great, especially when the costume looked so dark. I didnt love the movie so much, but Leatherface looked pretty damn good in it.If they can remake F13 like the TCM remake came out, I wouldnt mind so much. The original texas chainsaw massacre is much much better in my eyes, but the remake was ok too...BTW, if you post "why are you talking about TCM now?" you clearly dont get the point I am trying to make.

WHY ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT TCM NOW????!!!lolsorry but i had to do it.here are my thoughts in respect to the film. The bottom line for me is this....i am not too happy about it being a remake/redeux...but....maybe if they can add more background to an already established icon. If so, then I will be happy about it. Also, all that really matters in the end is that the series continues....Friday the 13th will be in the conciousness of america again and will help more movies to be made in the future. It will also mean more merchandise for all of us dorks to spend our money on. All we can do is hope for the best....whatever they decide to do, they will do regardless of what we think....regardless of how bad it may end up, i know i will be in the theaters to watch it for sure. Hell, i went and saw Jason X in the theater....Tommy

I understand your point about leatherface. That's basically what they will do to Jason. Make him more grim and dark and add somewhat more personality to him. Didn't they say jason was going to have tunnels built under ground which would explain how he get around the camp so fast.

Honestly, I think the Friday the 13th franchise is all about sequels. It's the film that everyone was expecting 20 sequels out of, and it quite possibly could have happened if they kept making the films at the rate they were going in the 80's. So why not scrap the idea of a remake and just make another sequel? Over the years there have been so many continuity errors and ridiculous ideas that one can take this franchise anywhere they want. I may be alone in this, but I would be up for seeing another sequel ("Friday the 13th part 9", "11", whatever as opposed to "Jason takes a dump on Chinatown"). There are tons of ways to make a killer F13 movie in sequel form without trying to "remake" or "reimagine" the story. My favorite sequel is probably The Final Chapter. I would love to see a sequel with an aged part 4 Jason and an older Corey Feldman. I'm not necessarily opposed to remakes, but nine times out of ten they always appeal to today's ignorant view on society. Throwing rap artists and subtle advertisements for cell phones, text messaging, and ipods aren't exactly my idea of entertainment and in no way should they be thrown into classic, simple, straight and to the point slasher films. I can't wait to see the remake, as I'm usually excited to see any remake for the fact that it's a new film involving my favorite horror characters. However, I'll probably just be waiting to be disappointed.

Doing a film called Friday the 13th part 11 isn't going to sell many tickets.With a remake they can start fresh and not worry about people who havent seen the 10 other ones.Case in Point. Rambo. Rocky Balboa. (studios arent going to put numbers on sequels that many years apart)My point is its easier to just start of with a new one.
