You expect curtain things from curtain kinds of films, especually from a sieres. So, in my eyes nit-picking is perfectly alright so long as you are staying within the confines of the film's general expectations. The same can really be done for just about anything, not just films.

I absolutely loved the first three and was expecting too much from this one I think. It was extremely disappointing. They should have just left it at a trilogy, same with most movies nowadays, they always have to push it too far until they totally f**k it up! I hope they do not do the same with the saw movies, I know they are working on part 5 now, but they should have just left it at 3! I went to see Indiana Jones with a couple of friends, and we were all getting bored by the end of it.
