My significant other and I have been collecting together since 2003. I wore masks as a child and have always enjoyed them. I have been told many women want their mates to sell their collections. This seems a bit harsh. I can see if a person is purchasing items and going into debt or not paying the bills but I think it\'s a great hobby.

Well, my girlfriend is supportive of my collection pretty much. We live in a two bedroom apartment and the 2nd room is used for my masks and figures.
She knows that with alot of that stuff if needed, I could sell and get most if not all of my money back.
She\'ll tell me which masks she likes the best and why.... as far as details with sculpture and the paint job.

I guess it depends on the person you\'re with.

My lady likes my stuff. She\'s not "into" it, but when I talk about new stuff I saw or want she doesn\'t laugh at me or anything... Tongue
Plus she knows if worse comes to worse, it\'s a good investment that can save our butts some day.

my girlfriend is very supportive of my love for horror movies and props

shes always there to tell me how good the masks I paint are (even though half the time Im not pleased)

in return for her always being there for me with my masks and being supportive, I suprised her with a custom Hockey Mask I got signed at a convention this year

Well, my gf is not a horror fan at all. Mostly she just puts up with it. I\'m in the same boat as Stenbeck, too. 2 bedroom apt and our spare is my collection room. I also collect Marvel Legends and various other comic paraphernalia, but she really does not like the horror stuff. Thats ok, she lets me,cause it keeps me happy. I\'m always telling her that Hey, at least I\'m not out at clubs or anything every weeekend. I don\'t drink, never done a drug in my life, this is my vice. Not a bad trade off, all things considered.

All i have to say is............
If you girlfriend/wife or boyfriend/husband doesnt want you to have masks or dont agree with it, then get rid of them.
They don\'t hurt anyone its not like your taking drugs or what not.
That person isn\'t right for you and I feel bad for the next person to end up with.

Well, my lady never says anything negative about my figures, masks, etc., hell, she even buys me some of them now and again. She doesn\'t say anything about the ones I have displayed in the living room and I have my own study with tons of stuff. I kinda lucked out, I think. Hell, she will even watch B-movies like Hell Comes to Frogtown with me and even enjoy them.
