Quote:Black hole for negativity? Hell, that\'s just what people who live in the free world call "the free market." Those who screw people over have to deal with the rants of the proverbial "screwed."  We all make our own beds.

    I think it\'s a great idea.

Maybe I worded it wrong. I just don\'t think the mods want to deal with tons of posts like "he\'s an a-hole!" or "he stole my money, he\'s a f-n thief"..... It would be easy to see who the good guys are and by attrition the bad ones. If someone you potentially want to deal with has NO ONE saying anything positive.....avoid........................Larry

I\'m sorry, Larry...I wasn\'t disagreeing with you one bit. I was actually supporting you.

I was just saying there\'s nothing wrong with a black hole of negativity in the free market. (if you know what I mean in the world of economics) The bottom line is that good sellers will do everything within their power to maintain positive feedback - just like in eBay. Word of mouth will spread and good dealers will continually make good transactions. Look at how many people flocked to support Travsall when someone asked in that other thread? We all love Travis! We kicks @ss, and everybody knows it. The only people who will continually get sucked down a black hole of negativity are jagoffs like ROT, and other people who insist on ripping us trusting folk off.

Nothing but support, Lar. Nothing but support.

It has worked very well at mm.net and there are only 2 or 3 negative posts there. Those were well deserved and hopefully they will save someone from being ripped off.

I don\'t mind one of these as it will be good for newer members...

Honestly though, I won\'t find it useful myself and doubt i\'ll reference it for help. Just have to be smart about who you deal with, use paypal so you can file claims, never send first in a trade...etc etc.

People are thinking this is getting worse but it really isn\'t. Thievery is common as hell in the hobby and always has been.

Personally, I\'ve never been in favour of feedback threads, LOT of problems can come of them. They can turn to bashing pretty fast and get real ugly, can turn into an ebay kind of thing to, where one person will hold back saying how their end of the transaction went until the other comments, fights start out of that very fast. Like Dan said, just be smart about it, check things out, and make sure you know who you\'re dealing with. There\'s always crooks, and losers out there trying to get your money, be smart about it, and see what\'s infront of you, and they can\'t get you.

Newer collectors rush into deals too fast. Ask around!!

Reputation is not something plastered on a feedback thread....reputation is something you earn over the years.
